CAPELLA IN THE NEWS

The Rooftop Guide

Rooftop bars asheville

Capella on 9 is probably as close to a NYC-style rooftop lounge you can get in Asheville. With two different rooftop terraces offering fantastic views over both the mountains and the city skyline, here you can enjoy a tapas-style food menu with focus on locally sourced ingredients along with a nice set of tasty and handcrafted mixology cocktails. Come early to this AC Hotel rooftop to watch the magical sunset, and weekends for more poeple and higher vibes, with either live music or live DJs.

A Brewer’s Guide to Asheville

We asked John Swanson, head brewer at New Belgium Brewing Asheville, for his recommendations in the booming North Carolina city.

For a more city vibe, the AC Hotel by Marriott is in the middle of downtown. It’s new and modern. It doesn’t have the history [of the Omni], but it’s cool and welcoming. The rooftop bar, Capella on 9, has unbelievable views of the downtown skyline.”

9 Asheville rooftop bars where you can drink in the view

The sleek and stylish 9th-floor rooftop bar at the AC Hotel features Mediterranean-inspired tapas, cocktails, wine and beer. The view is gorgeous, and the cocktails seem perfect for warmer-weather rooftop sipping, including two takes on a classic gin and tonic. It's windy up there, so bring a jacket, though the fire pits do help to knock down the chill.

48 Hours in asheville: Where to eat & drink

The afternoon is young, and it’s time for a cocktail or two at Capella on 9, Asheville’s most scenic and spacious new rooftop bar and restaurant. A signature gin and tonic or a Noble Clara (noble cider and soda water) are best paired with marinated olives, a mix board of imported and local charcuterie and cheeses and the most spicy, alluring mustard from Lusty Monk Mustard
